Follow the workaround described in this article to use the client driver of Tiger Store and Tiger Spaces with macOS Sequoia.
The information in this article applies to:
- Tiger Store Client 2.9.4
- Tiger Spaces Client 4.7.4
- macOS Sequoia 15.5
Note: Starting with macOS 15.5, the prerequisite setup described in this article needs to be performed only once. With Sequoia versions prior to 15.5, users have to perform the setup after every restart of a Tiger Spaces Client computer, as well as each time a Tiger Client connects to a new Tiger Store server.
Known Issues with macOS Sequoia
Important: Beginning with macOS Sequoia, Apple introduced firewall behaviour changes that prevent adding port-specific exceptions. To ensure full functionality of Tiger Client and Tiger Spaces Client, the macOS firewall must be disabled.
- Tiger Store Client – attempting to add the Tiger Store server on a macOS Sequoia client results in an error.
- Tiger Spaces Client:
-
- No Tiger Spaces server can be automatically discovered.
-
- Attempting to manually connect to a Tiger Spaces server displays all servers as offline. The problem persists after each restart of the macOS Sequoia computer.
Workaround
To resolve the above problems, you must force allow the Tiger Store Client and Tiger Spaces Client applications respectively to find and communicate with devices on your local network by following these steps:
- In the Apple menu, navigate to System Settings | Privacy & Security | Local Network.
- Do the following:
- Tiger Store client: Turn off, then turn on permissions for "smct".
- Tiger Spaces client: Turn off, then turn on permissions for "Electron".
